Who We Are

The owners of Nature’s Ponds, LLC are Julian Peterson (J.T.) and Jim Engeseth (Squirrel). Their combined knowledge and life experiences with landscaping, water features, electrical and plumbing installation can provide their clients with professional results. Nature’s Ponds also has a team of professional engineers and designers to tackle any size project. Nature’s Ponds was established. in 2005 when Julian and Jim joined forces to exclusively create water features, giving their clients the highest quality ponds in the market today. Not only do they create and build these wonderful water features, but they also educate their clients on the design, how the ponds ecosystem really works and how it plays a vital role in the ecology of nature.

Julian Peterson has been in the landscape business for 9 years, also as owner of Top Grade Landscaping, LLC based out of the Madison, WI area (est. 1997). His passion for building ponds and landscaping started at an early age. From there his skill and knowledge grew towards starting a business devoted to designing and installing the highest quality landscape or pond for his clients, always making sure that they were thrilled with the job.

Jim Engeseth has retired from a 30 year career in local government, with experience in telecommunications and in high tech electronic systems. He also has extensive experience in contract administration of projects often exceeding 1 million dollars. The last 15 years of his career was spent as Deputy Director of the Emergency Management Department of a large urban county in Wisconsin. He recently completed serving his 2nd two year term as an elected official. His interest in urban ecology, the idea of bringing nature into one's environment, was fully realized when his own water feature was created by Top Grade Landscaping, LLC. From that point Nature’s Ponds, LLC was created.
